Thirteen years ago we became parents. And like all new parents, we started reading labels. What we found wasn't reassuring. Products marketed as "natural" were packed with synthetic fragrances. Brands claiming to be "eco friendly" still relied on harsh detergents. And the truly safe options either didn't work or cost more than most families could afford.

So, we decided to make our own.

We started with a humble ingredient that had been quietly, effectively cleaning for 5,000 years: soapnut berries. Used across Chinese, Indian, and Native American cultures, these small berries contain saponins, nature's own surfactant, that clean powerfully without the chemical complexity of modern detergents.

Over the past decade, we’ve built Soapnut Republic into a household name across Asia, learning from families like ours who demanded products that worked without compromise. We tested formulas in real homes with real messes: sandy floors, hard water, busy families, and the daily chaos that comes from real life.
